  Travel Resources

Many of Northern California's most popular travel destinations--San Francisco, Napa/Sonoma Wine Country, Gold Country/Highway 49, the Sierra Nevada, Yosemite, Silicon Valley, Santa Cruz and Monterey, to name a few--are within easy driving distance of Berkeley. Some are even within walking distance of B.E.C. (A short walk up Cedar Street brings you to the heart of Berkeley's "Gourmet Ghetto;" the 4th Street shopping mecca is just a few blocks away.)

There are of course dozens of guide books and websites with information on Northern California. Some guidebook publishers--for example, Rough Guides--maintain websites with significant amounts of free information.

The websites of the State of California, City of San Francisco and the City of Berkeley also have many resources.
